Institut für Energie und Umwelttechnik – IUTA – e.V.

IUTA is a research institute in the field of energy and environmental technology which is bridging the gap between basic research and industrial application. The aims of the research are the acquisition of new scientific knowledge and methods as well as the transfer of the findings into practice, for example through concrete product and process developments.

FISCHER GmbH -Raman Spectroscopic Services, Meerbusch

FISCHER GmbH offers Raman spectroscopic analysis and apparatus engineering for research and development. In addition to competent advice on individual questions, the metrological services range from single sample measurements to feasibility studies to large-scale measurement campaigns. Furthermore, FISCHER GmbH has the necessary know-how for apparatus engineering and application in the field of universities and industry and offers its customers solutions for questions regarding specific measurement processes as well as the development of customer-specific individual systems.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is a pioneer for sustainable energy and raw materials management by supplying and transferring scientific results into companies, society and politics. The dedicated UMSICHT team researches and develops, together with partners, sustainable products, processes and services, which inspire.

Fraunhofer-Institut für Molekularbiologie und Angewandte Ökologie (IME)

Fraunhofer IME conducts applied life sciences from the molecule to the ecosystem and is a partner for contract research in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medicine, chemistry, agriculture as well as environmental and consumer protection. Research activities relate to the development and application of new technologies for the diagnosis and therapy of human and animal diseases and for the protection of crops and food.

RWTH Aachen – Institut für Umweltforschung (IUF)

The Institute for Environmental Research investigates the occurrence, fate and adverse effects of anthropogenic and natural pollutants at various ecosystem levels. In the field of ecosystem analysis, test methods are developed for this purpose, which allow the exact and reproducible determination of mechanism-specific toxicity and chronically occurring adverse effects. Within the iMulch project, the IUF deals with the ecotoxicity of conventional and bio-based mulch films and environmentally relevant trace substances bound to them.

RWTH Aachen – Institut für Angewandte Mikrobiologie (iAMB)

The Institute of Applied Microbiology (iAMB) is primarily engaged in the design of microbial strains and processes to efficiently produce industrially relevant chemicals from renewable resources. The interdisciplinary methods employed range from systems analysis and metabolic engineering to synthetic biology as well as cultivation intensification. One focus lies on polymer recycling, where plastic side streams are used as carbon source of microbes that produce bioplastic and other molecules of value. The biodegradability of mulch film monomers and potential upcycling strategies are subject of research within the iMulch project.
